As those of us who are lucky enough to go to NARTS Conference get ready to go, I can’t help but try to figure a way to “bring it on home” to resalers who can’t attend this year.
Tell it in TEN: Can we get the whole experience of Conference 2009 encapsulated in just 10 photos? Wanna try?
Update 7-7-09: Many Conference goers used their Facebook pages to post their photos, and after an exhaustive search, I have declared the winner. If you’d like, send her a little something for being thoughtful enough to share with you, her Conference experience.
I was gonna suggest that each photo be captioned with maximum 10 words too. Too hard? Probably. If you can, do…but if you’re struck dumb by the awesomeness of the whole experience, so be it. (But I’m thinkin’, good captions add a lot to the whole concept.)
We’ll each post our ten-shot story to a yet-to-be-announced photo-sharing site and then everyone, especially non-attendees, gets to vote on which “Tell it in TEN” set is best! Then I get to figure out what the prize will be and where/who it’ll come from (suggestions accepted.)
Remember: Take lots of photos but edit the whole story down to 10 shots that you’ll upload to a shared photo site when you get back home.
Ooh thank you, Tanya. I can’t wait to see what it is. 🙂
Congrats Julie! Your surprise went into the mail today — stood in line at the post office and everything :0
Okay…I just posted a short blog about the NARTS conference on my blog and I posted exactly 10 pictures which was quite hard deciding which ones to post but I did it. I am sure I will think of more to write tomorrow maybe but it’s 2 am so figured I should get to bed now.
Kate,
I downloaded my pictures to my pc as soon as I got home last night. I’m having a really hard time picking only 10 for this. I have no idea what my captions are going to be, but I can’t wait to share some of my pictures with everyone. Just let me know what site you want me to post them to and I’ll do it.
Julie
I’m leaning towards setting up a Flickr Group for these photos. Anyone have opinions good/bad, or another suggestion? Thanx, Julie, for starting the ball rolling here!
Count me in. I was just thinkimg this afternoon what I will be missing this weekend. At least I am in good company.
I think Carolyn has a great idea. And, after all, what else do we ‘stay at homes’ have to do? If you all take the effort to include us with your ‘Tell it in ten’, we could surely send a little something to the winner to show our appreciation.
I still look at the pictures from years past, and am really looking forward to seeing what I missed.
Wouldn’t THAT be fun…for the winner to receive “mystery” gifts from all over, from the shops who appreciated the photos and those who went to Conference and appreciate the “memories”! Think shops would get around to participating? Everyone means well, but there’s so much going on in a shopkeeper’s life. (And I suspect, as a group, we’re not any more organized than our clientele is 😉 )
I think those of us who aren’t going could each put in something for the prize, so that when we choose a winner we each send something from our store to that person, like a chain letter, only better!!!
