Well, this has nothing to do with resale except that this was pre-loved (it didn’t qualify as “gently-used” and its $25 price proved it.) And like all good used goods it had a very tiny carbon footprint.
Mine was two-tone turquoise and white.
What is it? My very first car. Promise me you won’t laugh. And that you’ll tell me what yours was.
Mine was a 1968 Ford Galaxie 500, that fastback window went on forever….covered it with light blue shag carpeting!
A 72 Chevy Nova (deep blue with a black vinyl top) and it was one of my favorite cars. My parents had a Corvair for almost 20 years, so that car holds a special place in my heart too.

W-A-I-T a minute. 60% of us had Corvairs? Do you think there’s a correlation between Corvairs and Consignment? They both start with C-O….
And why couldn’t we have been driving C-O-rvettes?
an all-white 1965 Corvair. My all-time favorite. $500.
Mine was a red and white Covair! Fabulous!
Okay, now I’m waiting for someone to tell me their first car was a 2009 something, just to show how young they are! : – P
72 Chevy Blazer. It took 4 men to remove the top, but we removed it every summer. Some of the happiest memories of my life include that old thing. We drove it for over thirty years, and sold it for more than the purchase price. The person who bought it is having it restored, and I’ll probably cry the first time I see it.
72 Chevy Malibu. Made of solid steel I think, we called it the TANK.
Now I wish I had it back, since it really would have looked spectacular with a fresh coat of paint and boy did it move – that was one tough engine!
I had a 1962 Buick Special that was years older than me, with a steering wheel that would have been at home in a semi-truck and a radio that had to “heat up” before it would work. You didn’t even need a key to start it…my dad paid $200 and then sold it for more than that.
It was my “incentive” car…it was an incentive for me to go out, get a job and get my own car. One night, we piled 18 people in that car and then dragged Main Street. Embarrassing, yes, but also some good memories!
