I’m gonna just put this out there, folks. I know you all like to do one LOOOONG Facebook Live peddling your merchandise. 45- to 70-minute long Facebook live videos seem to be the rage nowadays. But think about it…
is this how your IRL shopper SHOPS?
Of course not. If you required her to sit through a demonstration of the interior of a dozen designer bags, when she’s popped in to see what she can use as a beach coverup…
will she buy that instead of what she is looking for?
So why do loooong live videos with something from every darn department of your shop, and make your viewers suffer through all sorts of sizes when she needs a double or triple 0? Think she’ll enjoy that? Nope,
she’ll click away from your smiling face, much as she loves you.
I’ve done it, you’ve done it. Ain’t got time for this, wish I could see [name of whatever she’s in the market for].
So here’s my suggestion:
A TV Guide!

Remember them? Why not tell folks something like: Our live show tonight will show
- 7:00 pm Colorful tops sizes 00-Small
- 7:15 pm Our best summer tops in size Medium
- 7:30 pm Cool tops, and lots of tunics too, in sizes Large through plus
You get the idea. Why make a curvaceous woman sit there for half an hour before you get to anything she’d be able to wear?
Same thing, only doubly important, if you sell kidswear. In fact, you could set your TV Guide up for the week:
- Tuesdays, 2-2:15 pm Grandma’s Precious (loving aunties invited too): … nursery and baby gifts
- Wednesdays, 2-2:15 pm Puppy Dog Tales: The best in boys’ attire and toys, sizes 2T to 8
- Thursdays, 2-2:15 pm The Princess Show: Frankly frilly stuff for girls size 2T to 10
And so on…. and imagine this strategy in a home goods/ furniture shop too. The Lighting Show… Cover your Floors Collection… Hostess with the Mostess tableware and centerpieces…. heck, you could even throw in a Travel the World show with decor items from a variety of cultures once in a while.
My attention span is so short…..I can’t bother watching anything fore more than two minutes!

This a great common sense suggestion. I know that I wouldn’t sit through the portions that weren’t of interest to me, the same as looking through a catalog. I’d head right to the section I was interested in.
