Time’s flying for consignment and resale shop owners across the continent.
If you haven’t registered for Conference, do it today…
If you need more info, or simply CANNOT go, listen to Kate.
And read a week by week play from last year.
And if you missed this info:
As you pack for Conference, take a moment to imagine yourself on the way home! Here are some tips to make your trip home as easy as the trip to Conference 2008:
You’ll have lots of literature. Be ready to sort it all out with a few file folders you’ve brought along. We’ve found the most useful folders to be those with closed sides, because they can corral paper, business cards, even scribbled notes on scraps with ease. Label your folders Workshops for handouts, Ideas to Try for all those hints you get at meals or social events, Contacts for people you meet that you want to follow up with, To Do for things you’ve promised others to send, and Sources for catalogs and information collected from vendors. Every evening, as you organize your literature back in your room, expland your notes while the info is still fresh in your mind.
You’ll have stuff you’ve bought. Prepare yourself to get it all home with extra plastic shopping bags. Use the empty bags to tuck around your clothes to keep them wrinkle-free, then pull them out and fill them with merchandise from SourceMart, freebies, and purchases you made on the Resale Shop bus tour. If you’re really a pack-rat, consider taking along a collapsible extra suitcase!
Keep essentials close at hand. Prescription drugs, glasses, keys, plane tickets, and insurance cards should always be hand-carried, not checked. A tote or oversized handbag assures that you have what you need at all times.
Bring your checkbook. If you haven’t yet found the advertising dollars (one or two a week… yes, $1 or $2 a week for 24/7 notice on the World Wide Web!) to get noticed in cyberspace, you’ll want to sign up your shop on HowToConsign.com …why, a listing here could very well pay for next year’s Conference!
On your trip home, mull over everything you’ve learned and make plans to put all that education to good use once you get back to your shop. The best resalers have learned that those new ideas generate more than enough profit to pay for their trip to Conference and start a nest egg to attend Conference 2009!

Oh, how I wish I could go this year. I had so much fun and learned so much from everyone last year. I hope everyone has as much fun as I did last year. Enjoy your away time ladies and gents.
MollyB!
Hey…now is also the time to start taking photo’s of shop displays and windows. Show off all your hard work and bring a small album.
I’ll miss you all at conference this year – but have my hands full with my newborn and trying to stay away from my store for a few months!
