Just because school’s starting pretty soon or is already in session, is no reason to shop showcasing your resale or consigned BTS outfits…for children of all ages!
The photo to the right is of a Gap Kids store…wouldn’t signs like these, hung around the neck of your outfits, look great? Especially if your signage said something like “Get the whole outfit for…” Try a teacher-supply store for ready-cut numbers, mount them on foam sheets for the 3-D effect.

If you have invested in mannequins, doing a window’s a snap. The shoe risers, too, make a professional-looking display window easy. To the left: Love the dark bottoms/ jewel-tone tops, and notice the mini’s in the middle for balance. Great “back-to-work” look: even people long past BTS outfits feel the urge to refresh their wardrobes now.

est look to the right, so show it! This look has a hidden bonus: lots of layers = multiple purchases, so put them together carefully. You may have to do a little thrift-shopping to gather enough of the right shape and weight to do these types of displays, and be sure to gather all candidates into your swing shop.

Finding it hard, in your designer boutique or your home-furnishings store, to make a window that celebrates fall? Do a fall foliage extravaganza. To the left, an example from my mall walk. Notice that what makes it really POP is the focused lighting. After mannequins, track lighting is your next return-a-terrific-profit investment in your windows. You’ll be amazed at how much more professional your clientele will judge your business with windows like these!

I own a children’s consignment store. I LOVE the idea of putting the entire outfit’s price. Thanks Kate as always.
Good post. I believe in them so much I invested in 5 dress forms, a full mannequin and three 1/2 hanging skins. All plus size and what fun they will be to dress and re-dress. Thanks for showing the fall shot-I will do that.
