Making it real…on tape »

Can’t consign it? Can’t sell it? Maybe you should BUY it from them.

April 10, 2010 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

You’re offered tons of stuff, especially now with spring-cleaning season upon us, that you just don’t have a customer for in your shop, right?

Oh. Wait. Maybe YOU should buy it.

Here’s some things that could be very useful to have around the shop.

towel holder

A paper-towel holder could be a good bangle-bracelet display piece.

Card holders

Holiday card holders can become a collage of designer ad magazine clippings

sleeper into open sign

A surplus sleeper becomes a word-of-mouth-worthy OPEN sign.

topiary tree-let

A mini fake topiary can be a spring-fresh hat stand.

LP records are cheap now!

Buy up LPs for pennies. Do a window display about how your fashions are "long-playing"...and break some sales records 🙂

cheese dome

Lose the wood platter, use the dome to spotlight something especially wonderful in your show case.

Boy, we resalers are recyclers to the Nth degree, aren’t we?

These are fun. My very favorite part of making displays is thinking of off-the-wall uses for everyday items. Thanks for the ideas, Kate.

Hi Emilie…That’s not called “stealing”…it’s called being inspired! :)…(unless you put a Coach or Gucci tag on it of course.[sick joke]) Glad the TGtbT Family of Resale Sites is useful, and hope that sometime soon you’ll add your shop’s info to our consumer-oriented site, HowToConsign.com, to help shoppers find you! Every mention on the web of your shop improves your search engine ranking.
