Deja Vuesday: Consignment & resale…even thrift…stores could attract more teen buyers »

A picture’s worth a thousand more bucks… in increased sales.

October 11, 2010 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Consignment, thrift, resale shops market their markdowns a lot of ways…Twitter, Facebook, web sites, blogs, broadcast email. Not to mention traditional media! And we’re always fighting the glance at it, scan it, no-time-to-read way that our customers see anything. So, whenever you can, use pictures!

Some wording just screams for an illustration. Like this one:

Save an Extra 20% Off on Already-Reduced Merchandise (for a total of 65% Off).

Okay, that’s nice, I get it, I’ll save a lot. But how much

more memorable and motivating

would that message be if accompanied by a graphic?

price slashed

Or even a generic pair of scissors to get the “SLASHED” idea across?
