Choosing Consignment, Resale, Thrift Resolutions for the New Year

December 20, 2010 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Okay, you’ve hinted to all what you want for Christmas, and I hope Santa brings it down your chimney.

Now it’s time to decide something much more important.

It’s time to choose your consignment, resale, thrift shop’s New Year’s Resolutions.

Making choices is part of being a resale shopkeeper. Deciding how to improve your business is one of the biggies.

What will you focus on in 2011? Much as we all would love to polish up our shops in every aspect, there are choices to be made. Which steps will you take to improve your shop?

Fortunately, small steps count. Like how Kitty, a long-time friend and HowToConsign.com sponsor, has called attention to her shop by commenting on blogs. Here’s one she did just the other day.

Not sure where you want to apply your talents? Some small steps to try. Once you feel comfortable with these, it will be on to bigger choices in 2011.

Maybe you want to get more BUZZ going. Try finding local bloggers who’ll give your shop some electronic ink. That’s word-of-mouth that’s so easy to get…and a fresh audience for your shop!

Can’t decide which direction to go in? See what other resalers want to work on.

In January, we’ll talk more. But for now, think about what you’d like to do, to implement, to learn more about. Any ideas to share?
