Look, isn’t it adorable? Looks JUST like her mommy.
It’s the QR code (Quick Response code) that will lead smart phone uses to the TGtbT Shop for Professional Resalers. It was a snap to create, and cost me nothing.
Now, I don’t have a smart phone, so I am trusting the site where I got this free. I don’t even know if your phone can read off the monitor. But I’m sure savvy consignment and resale shopkeepers will check it out for me.
We mentioned, back on the old Sharing, a site which explains all this. Anyone save the link? If so, or if you know of a good site which explains all this, please use the comments here to Share!

If you’re a Constant Contact client, here’s how to make a QR code that links to “sign up for my newsletter”: http://supportconstantcontact.blogspot.com/2011/05/using-qr-code-to-build-your-list.html
Another great use for QR codes is to put one in your shop window. That way customers can easily look up your shop when you are closed and they can only peek in the windows. You can link it to your consignment policy or to a coupon (which you can then track to see if people are using the QR code). You can create multiple QR codes for different ads, for information or for coupons and see which ones are being redeemed. Not a bad idea to put one on your business card and on your mailings too. For a price you can also have a graphic QR code custom designed.
Thanks Saige, I think that’s what Deb was doing originally, that started this conversation: putting a QR code in her window. (Wouldn’t it be WAY cool to have a QR code on your CLOSED sign that leads them to a “sorry we missed you” page with some sort of incentive to return?)
Question though: why would one need a QR code customer designed? Isn’t it non-negotiable… like a bar code? I mean, you can’t put daisies or dancing pigs in it, right?
Yes, they can be custom designed with your logo or an image. Here is an article about it: http://www.upstatebizsc.com/articles/2070/
Thanks for the link… so I am guessing, from the sample, that it’s the white spaces that “count”… wonder how dark the dark spaces need to be…. hmmm.
I just tried it with my Droid Eris and it pulled up your website
Thanks Vickie… nice to know it works through the monitor screen ;)… isn’t it magic? That means, folks: you can put a QR code you’ve designated to go to a specific site, on your site, your blog, your FB albums… probably in email newsletters as well!
It’s just another way to have a “live link” to your page about an event, a sale, whatever… wherever you want it.
One more tool in our marketing arsenal!
Here’s the site I have in my favorites, Kate… I believe I saved it from Sharing but may have stumbled on it elsewhere, too.

I’m so excited for the new Sharing and am in withdrawal right now! Can’t wait for it to be back online! Thanks for everything, Kate!
Thanks Jodi… I am as guilty as the next person with not having a routine in place to save important links outside of Sharing. We appreciate your Sharing this!
