They’re just discovering these Resale Truths? »

Of swarm parties and mayors.

July 6, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Is it cheating to check in where you PLAN to go?Have you explored whether Foursquare can help your resale, thrift or consignment shop’s social media strategy?

Yes, another “social media” angle. They’re betting that folks like to know how “popular” a local business is. That’s a pretty sure bet. It’s like word-of-mouth electronically. Worth looking in to.

Read about Foursquare from the consumer’s Point of View.

Now read about it from the merchant’s POV. They’ll explain about mayors.

Play around with it on your computer. Join, then, when it asked which phone app you want, choose other… and the mobile Foursquare site. This works just as though you were actually there, on your phone. I just checked in at the gym although I’m sitting at my computer in my nightie. Well, I MIGHT be going there later.

Not interested in another thing to learn? Go visit their merchant pages anyway. (That’s where you’ll learn what swarm parties are.) Click on “Foursquare Specials” for a succinct list of the kinds of marketing you could be doing. A little tweaking and this list is a helpful guide to NON-electronic promotions to add to your promotions file. Tuck it into your copy of 229 Promotional Events for Resale & Consignment Shops PLUS Promotions Step-by-Step and Promote with PIZZAZZ.
