Afraid of blogs? Here’s a little tip.

July 20, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

I firmly believe in the value of blogs to get your customers, and those you wish were your customers, involved in your shop.

I think I’ve mentioned that before.

Giving a “tour” of your shop, or letting folks follow along as you remodel the dressing rooms, choose a new paint color, even simply do a window display, is something they love, and something they will share via social media, if you suggest same.

But if you are still leery of using your blog, or even starting a blog, you can still do an image-building story with your Facebook album.

Need some inspiration? Follow this clever writer’s journey through fish tacos and Margaritas. Notice how carefully he’s selected and prepped a few photos and how the captions flow into a story. A bit of a rambling story, for sure. But don’t you feel a little like you already know and like him? Who knows, you may even “like” him by the time you’re done with these carefully edited photos and amusing captions.

Still scared, even to do a Facebook album? Here’s a much simpler one that HowToConsign posted before Mother’s Day to inspire our Sponsor shops into creating something similar to stimulate sales in their individual stores.

I’m not afraid but your tips keep me focused and inspired. I’d love to see other readers’ blogs!

Your wish is my command! There is a list of HowToConsign Treasured Sponsors’ blogs on this very blog… see, down in the right-hand column?

Be prepared, though… most shopkeeper bloggers start and then do not continue to use their blogs. It’s a shame, but it happens.
