Love this solution… and this resale display!

August 2, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

On the NARTS Conference bus tour, it was fun to see who else in your group zoomed into the same details as you did. Here, a lei’d resale peer noticed a great idea at the same time I did:

Using bamboo blinds to create a back room in a consignment shop

Bamboo blinds, attached to the ceiling, provide a inexpensive wall to make a back room. And the texture enhances the merchandise too. Click the picture to get hundreds more ideas that will make your shop sizzle!

Did you notice the other thing I love about this picture?

Creating vignettes makes consignment, resale, and thrift treasures look irresistible!

Did you notice the cunning vignette on that desktop?

I hope you use vignettes… they don’t have to be room-size, they can be as small as the one above… in your shop. I’m sure this consignment furniture shop collected and keeps as props, pretty books to use.

This type of vignette works with any type of merchandise: a fashion mag opened next to a earring rounder and a pair of sexy shoes for a designer womenswear consignment shop, or a classic fairy-tale book enhancing a display of toddler items. Vignettes tell stories… stories your shoppers want in their lives! Just another idea from Shop Sizzle, 32 pages of inexpensive ways to make your shop stand out from the sea of sameness that is retail today.
