Ooh, ouch. Not the right answer…

October 12, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Lots of things to consign, sell, or donate: how would your shop handle it?When someone

asks you a question,

what’s your answer?

.

Here’s one from Facebook.

Would you prefer a dozen (or so) bags full of clothes at once, or 2 bags a day for a few days? We’re getting ready to move, and I’ve got a BUNCH of stuff.

And here’s the shop’s answer:

A couple or 3 bags over several visits would be best. Thanks for asking!

What would YOU have posted for all your fans to see?

I would have said they can bring them in however works best for them. After all, we’re here to serve their needs.

We say, “bring them anytime, as much as you want, whenever we are open!”

Oops…I didn’t read carefully. I’d POST a comment asking them to contact the shop to make arrangements to drop off the items in one trip.

I’d do the opposite…”oh my, you have enough to do getting ready to move without multiple trips to consign! I’m assuming you’ve already sorted the items…so just load up your car and bring them on over! We’ll take care of it from there.”

This is based on knowing the consignor – if it’s a new person, I’m going to call the person and chat a bit to determine that these “bags” meet our quality standards.
