Promotional events especially for consignment, resale and thrift storesWhen’s the last time you had an honest-to-goodness, word-of-mouth-worthy promotion in your shop?

Maybe now, with .

the weather improving, would be a good time. But what to do? How to do it? And can we do it easily, quickly, inexpensively… and make it a HIT?

And most of all, what promo will help your shop stand out from the Dreaded Sea of Sameness which seems to be infecting resalers recently?

Here are just a few of 229 promotional ideas from the Too Good to be Threw Archive of Articles and the Products for the Professional Resaler that will help make your event a success before…during…and especially, AFTER (that’s key to making it worthwhile.)

We had a fashion/jewelry show on Saturday! The local paper picked it up and did a small blurb in the daily sheet and is doing an article on us in the weekly gazette. Free advertising! I’m fairly new – still getting the website and everything going and since I run the shop alone right now, it takes me longer to get things done than I would like, but when a friend asked me to hostess a jewelry party for her, I asked her if she wanted to have a fashion/jewelry show here at the store. Doing it with someone else made it a lot easier and between the two of us we came up with great ideas. Not only did the store do well after the show, but this week is already showing an improvement in traffic. Promotions are a lot of work, but so worth it.
