Why didn’t I think of this?

November 15, 2012 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

From my files, “obvious” solutions to consignment, thrift, resale situations…

why didn’t I think of that!?

Using a for-sale head board, a packing box, and a for-sale bedspread in a thrift, consignment or resale shop

Make the bed! A for-sale headboard, a large packing box, and a for-sale bedspread makes a great way to sell these items. Thanks to World’s Attic, an MCC thrift shop in Sarasota FL

For photographing French-wire earrings, suspend them on a length of clear beads.

Resalers never waste an inch! Here, the spare 2 feet of wall space has outfits on a clothesline.

Look around your shop… what obvious solution do you have, that your resale peers may never have thought about? You can tell us, below.

Curtains are almost as hard to display as rugs! I am still looking for the sure fire way to display rugs (and don’t you dare say to just put them on the ground! lol) We love to consign them but struggle with keeping them viewable and safe.

Oh, and I do love the headboard, box, comforter idea! I never would have thought of this on my own but I’m certain this will sell both items SO much quicker than propped against a wall and in a bag on a shelf!

I’m wondering about an obvious way to sell curtains…..anyone have a great idea? The best I can think is to put a few panels on curtain rods on the wall behind a door (say, to the employee area). Anything else?
