Okay, so they want money. Give ’em money. THIS way. »

A picture’s worth a thousand status updates? No.

December 20, 2012 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Consignment, resale, thrift shops using Facebook albumsThere’s nothing more annoying than getting 4 or 6 or even (yes I counted!) 15 status updates in a row from the same person/business on Facebook. No matter how much you adore Cousin Tilly’s kids, or Resale Rosie’s pictures of incoming consignment goodies, their filling your news feed with uploaded pictures, one by one, can be excruciating.

Kinda like the slide show of their trip to Greece your neighbors insisted you sit through in their rec room.

Give your followers, fans, and friends the choice of how many of your uploaded pictures they’d like to see, and how much time they’d like to spend, by creating albums as needed: this week’s new arrivals, Jemmie’s adorable little thing he does in his footie pj’s… whatever.

Here’s FB’s help page on creating albums. (And don’t neglect the 3rd suggestion in step 4.)

And remember, you can always add to an album. Say, on Wednesday you have another great new arrival. Adding it to your current album works just fine. Here’s an example of what shows up on the news feed of people who are following you, when you go to one of your albums and add a photo there. (One caveat: Facebook doesn’t show you all the albums you’ve created. Why not? Who knows. They call it a “known issue” which I think translates “you want control over your pix? Stop buggin’ us and get a blog!”)

More on how consignment, resale and thrift shops might use Facebook albums.
