Many heads make… fun consignment window display ideas!

May 23, 2013 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Eavesdrop on a conversation between consignment and resale shopkeepers:

Linda started a discussion:
Wanted to share with a great window display that I saw recently while traveling. I came home and put it together in my shop and while I was still arranging it, had people taking pictures! If you have

any mannequin legs put them upside down in a large urn or flower pot. Decorate around them (we used Easter grass), and on them (rings on the toes, bracelets on the ankles, shoes on the feet..anything), stick some large fake flowers around them and a sign that says  dive into savings at Smarty Pants. It’s very cute and gets scads of attention. Just had to share! [Ed. note: Linda didn’t send a photo, so I found one in my files that’s similar….]

another resaler added: You could say OOPS I FELL FOR ….

Then Kate B gave us another idea:
Take three oscillating fans, if they are on stands it’s even better. Attach props to make them look like faces. Sunglasses, Groucho eyebrows, hats, etc. Set them in your window, and turn them on low, so the heads look back and forth. You can even put clothing on the stands it is sooo cute…Now you come up with the signage.

Bev had no problem doing that:
How about Is your wardrobe currently turning Heads? or maybe Blow away deals at ____  or Hot weather, hot clothes

Can you share any great displays and signage that worked in your shop? There’s a comment box below here just waiting for your words of wisdom!
