A Grand Opening of a resale shop that’s MORE than just big scissors?

October 29, 2014 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

GRAND opening!

Here’s a press release that has some very do-able ideas for your consignment, resale, or thrift Grand Opening (or Reopening or Anniversary or Customer Appreciation Day…)

See what they’re doing?

  • They are cross-promoting other shop-local businesses at their location.
  • They’re NOT paying for refreshments (I’m guessing!) even though food… interesting, inventive food… is a huge draw for the event.
  • They’re promoting “locally sourced, fresh, organic hormone-free” products, thus giving their used clothes the cachet of eco-responsibility.
  • They are drawing attention to their developing hip neighborhood.
  • And (I’m guessing again) all those businesses are sharing in the cost of the concert tickets, shopping spree, and iPhone prizes.

Hope this gives you some ideas to tuck into your Shopkeeper Bag o Trix!

Wow, i am so impressed with this store’s ideas for their grand opening. I like that they included other new start up companies in the celebration, it says a lot about their business ethics. A positive show of interdependence. Thanks so much for sharing!
