Green Eileen: Another type of resale shop.

April 20, 2016 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Green Eileen used-clothing storeIf you’re a womenswear resale or consignment shop, no doubt you’ve encountered Eileen Fisher clothing. Simple, timeless, well-made (I have a favorite tank top that’s at least 20 years old and still looking fresh and elegant!), it’s a hit with fashionable customers.

But did you know that Eileen Fisher also sells used

Eileen Fisher in half-a-dozen Green Eileen shops across the country?

In the spirit of recycling and honoring Earth Day, take a look at their web site, for some ideas that might be applicable to your web presence. For example:

  • Through the secondhand stores, the company tells the public where they contribute, in this list of nonprofits. They also highlight the recipients of goods they receive which they can’t resell, and provide a contact form if you are an NFP that could use these items.
  • They run classes on using “third-life” textiles in their Makerspace. Take a look here.
  • Their blog posts have interesting consumer topics that might work as good links in your shop’s blog or social media.

And BTW, those unsold Eileen Fisher items in your store? Worth a $5 gift card to their company stores, so scour your dollar racks if you love their clothes!

Visit their site, Green Eileen.
