#hashtagtheheckoutofit

Yup, that’s Hashtag the Heck Out of It with a pound sign.

TGtbT suggests you hastag the heck out of every day!Why not make your followers want to search you out on social media #everysingleday with a themed hashtag to go with each day of the week? Highlight one piece of merchandise, one outfit, one room setup.

Like:

#markdownmonday: Choose one, preferably ultra-popular, item to do a drastic markdown on for that day only. Bonus: you get to have another social media message when you snap a shot of the lucky purchaser and post that!

#tickledtuesday Show off something with a sense of humor (a polka dot ball gown?), something weird (an elephant-foot umbrella stand?), something nostalgic (a Twister game?) You could even use the hashtag #tickledpinktuesday if yours is a feminine store branding… or if you want to feature pink stuff every Tuesday. No markdowns here, just unique, make-em-smile style.

#wildwednesday (or #wickedwednesday if you’re in New England!) Brag on something spectacular you have in: a designer item, an unusual antique, something that will make them go OMG. And get them sharing, talking, commenting.

#throwbackthursday This particular hashtag already, of course, has a big following so it’s a natural. Something vintage? An item that’s already sold, that you want to use to emphasize what they missed (miss a day, miss a marvel!)? Or use #toythursday if you sell kidstuff or even #thirstythursday if you sell home goods and can spotlight beverage glasses, mugs, coffee machines, barware, and so on.

Well, #yougettheidea, right?

These hashtags not only motivate your fans and followers to follow you, but play up the You snooze you lose aspect of our wonderful resale industry! Anyone care to try their hand writing suggestions for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday hashtags? Comment below!

    How about…..
    #seniorsunday (discount for senior shoppers)
#frillyfriday (ruffles & frills, beads & baubled. The formals that are hard to move….)
    #supersalesatyrday (1/2 drives 1/2 priced items)
