Counting Down to Christmas

November 13, 2018 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Lots of fun ways to build anticipation

to Christmas in your consignment, resale, thrift shop! Here are some of my found favorites:

I love this one. Imagine it BIG in your window, and the first person in every morning has the honor of snipping off a bit of Santa’s beard (with appropriately decorated special scissors of course) and having their photo posted on your blog or a special Facebook album…

Here’s a way to get folks in, first thing in the morning: Have a “first stepper” reward!

First person in, gets whatever’s in the little treat bag in addition to their photo on social media if they like (Shy folk? Maybe talk them into a photo just showing their hands and the goodie bag treat!) Use up those voile jewelry bags and tiny paper bags you have floating around. Some could contain small items, others a discount for their purchase that day. Be sure to publicize this heavily! An example from Pinterest:

If yours is a home furnishings/ furniture/ decor consignment or resale shop, or if your NFP benefits housing: what more fun than cozy little houses all in a row? (Tip: You don’t need to get all crafty. Order these gabled treat boxes and add some window and door stickers!)

Do you love, sell, promote designer handbags? Use these purse-shaped boxes for your 24 treats!

And for a childrenswear shop? Mittens on a string: purchased mittens with a treat or discount tucked inside. For true holiday spirit, be sure to donate the dozen pairs of mittens to a charity, collecting them as you go.
