Lighted shelving for your shopSo, here’s Kate shopping for, perhaps, your consignment, resale or thrift shop.

Sometimes, your merchandise needs a little light shone upon it. Thus, these battery-operated lighted shelves. Imagine hand-blown perfume bottles displayed hereon, a sparkly holiday ornament on a stand (these stands are another one of Kate’s Favorite Things, useful in many ways!), or even a detailed figurine.

These shelves are guaranteed not to collect dust…because you will be selling the items you put on them quick quick like a bunny.

Another one of Kate’s favorite things for your consignment shop decor:

This elegant announcement stand might be just the thing in your foyer with a short message. Just arrived: Prada boots or Pearls are a girl’s best friend. I can see this in a shabby chic cottage-style shop, a high-concept black-and-white boutique, or even a ribbons-and-lace baby shop. Rumor has it, it’s double-sided, so you could write a bye-bye message on the reverse.

Since it’s cast iron, it should even be useful outside, depending on your location.

One of the worst parts of being retired from the consignment business (besides not getting first dibs any more!) is that you see something PERFECT for a shop…and then remember that you don’t have a shop anymore.

So, I decided I’d start a new category here on the TGtbT blog: “My Favorite Things”. They’ll be stuff that, if I did still have a shop, I’d buy, get, copy, make in a heartbeat. (more…)
