If you want to wear silk

Sequin glamor from Nine WSest, at Macy's…sell polyester. So said a very wise man to me years ago.

After all, who got acclaim as one of the richest men on Earth? Sam Walton, or the guy who owns Saks Fifth Avenue? Do you even KNOW who founded Saks?

Consignment around the world!

This week, I added another country to the list of places that I have sent my book, Too Good to be Threw, The Complete Operations Manual for Resale & Consignment Shops and other of my Products for the Professional Resaler.

Norways the latest country. Of course, I send scads to Canada, quite a number to Australia and Great Britain. In addition, I have sent manuals and other info to Italy, Costa Rica and Mexico, Sweden and Germany. Several to Hong Kong too (can you imagine THEIR rent!?!) Fun to know that ReSell..RePlace…ReJoice is becoming an international favorite!

Another address that had me daydreaming was something like The Old Vicarage, High Street, Quaint-on-the-Thames in England. Tweeds and crumpets, cobblestones and hedgerows.
Now, if I could only stage a World Tour! Heck, maybe I’ll just design a T-shirt and pretend like I get to see all the wonderful places TGtbT is making its mark on the retail world!

I’m thrilled to find a shop, thrilled that DuH has a magazine that he can sit in the car and read, thrilled that I have time to really shop.

Sashay I into said shop. Nice place! Lookin’ good. Oops. There’s (more…)

Are you overwhelmed in your consignment or resale shop? How many hours a day do you work? If you’re an entrepreneur, you probably cannot answer that question. Do you count just the time when you’re physically at your business? Do you include that focused-mental-set time known as commuting? How about the minutes here and there that your brain wanders from making dinner or listening to your preteen complain about her friends towards what you have to do at work?

Then there’s the hours (more…)
