Singing veggies

singing vegetablesHave you ever, while perusing the menu, asked a waiter waitperson what the vegetables are in a restaurant? Chances are the answer is “a vegetable medley.”

What? My fiber’s gonna sing to me? After all, the first definition of “medley” is

a musical composition consisting of a series of songs
or other musical pieces from various sources

Yes, thousands visit www.TGtbT.com a day, and almost a thousand visit www.HowToConsign.com and this blog a day.

I was going through clothing catalogs today, and can’t help wondering: If those companies think it’s okay to charge 10% more for plus sizes than for missy sizes, why don’t they be honest entrepreneurs and charge 10% LESS for petites?

I mean, come ON. There’s a LOT less fabric in a 2 Petite than there is in a 12… and not THAT much more in a 1X than in that 12. Heck, the 2 Petite probably even requires one less button than the missy, and lord knows what with the price of buttons nowadays…

BTW: The ad’s from 1934. Doncha love it? Look close and you can see they ripped off my name.

Editorial in the NYTimes today re drinking bottled water includes this passage:

“almost all municipal water in America is so good that nobody needs to import a single bottle from Italy or France or the Fiji Islands. Meanwhile, if you choose to get your recommended eight glasses a day from bottled water, you could spend up to $1,400 annually. The same amount of tap water would cost about 49 cents.
