I was shopping for something I really needed when I saw them.
Fresh clean white gym socks.
I have gym socks. Plenty of gym socks. Of course, they’re kinda old and snaggly and grey. And a couple pair have been mine since before I moved to this state. Ten years ago. But I don’t really need gym socks.
But then I thought: I’m worth it. So I bought those new gym socks. Cute little white ones with pink embroidery. Three pair.
Then the next day I bought
two, yes two, sets of polka dots for my car. Heady with power, I was. I didn’t need even a single set of polka dots (my purple flames were still just fine) but I was worth two sets of polka dots (48 in all).
Then it was new towels. Deep teal and light teal, when all I’d ever owned before in my life were white or beige bath towels (so practical, you know). With monograms. True, monogramming was free that week but still. Monograms.
I’m worth it.
Where will it stop?I have even started a Christmas list. Of stuff for me that I fully intend to buy for myself. So far, there’s two things on it. Scented soap and (wonder of wonders) scratch pads. Even though Ivory and the back side of printed-out emails work just fine.
I may even gift wrap them. I’m worth it.
The socks were 3 pair for $4.99. The polka dots, $48. The towels, with free monograms, $52.50.
I am so eternally grateful that my tastes do not run to Mercedeses or mansions on the Gulf of Mexico. Fluffy new socks and monogrammed towels, my idea of the good life.
Polka dot PT photos to follow.
You MUST post the photo of the car Kate, the curiosity is killing me! LOL
Seriously… 🙂
