This snapshot of a shop’s sign (I’d credit the shop, if I could figure out who/what/where) is interesting. But for us resalers,
the sign and its approach to gaining suppliers is even more interesting.
How does, do you think, a sense of humor go over with potential clients of your shop? Will you attract more than you will turn off?
Certainly the headline of this sign, or of this message turned into an ad, an email, a blog post… will get folks reading, assuming your pool of potential customers is mostly female and mostly eligible for marriage and cheating husbands.
I’m sure, however, that there will be some who read this sign and take offense. For whatever reasons. And standard “knowledge” about communications with your marketplace includes the adage “Don’t offend/ be VERY careful with humor”… which is wise. After all, you don’t want some still-hurting woman bursting into tears because of your sign. Or worse, other readers of said sign to see that woman crying because of BigMeanieYou.
My thoughts: if the skewed, not-terribly-PC approach is natural for you, then go for it. At least you’ll get some great word-of-mouth. But if irreverence and tongue-in-cheek is not your style then you, your message, and your clientele will feel strained and forced.

I love it and if I get to open a shop,Im putting it in a 8×10 frame on my entry way table. my kind of woman!!!
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!. I would certainly use it or some variation of it. You are right though, you have to be very careful not to offend. It is tongue in cheek humor, but it gets the point across.
OMG !!!!!! I love it…and about the funniest marketing and creative idea I have ever seen and with someone that has some you know what…lol…I love it….and I am actually thinking about using it…I think most people around me would find it hilarious….I will have to talk over with Jen to see what she thinks….I am still laughing.
