In effect, it’s word of mouse!
If you feel learning about and utilizing the “personalized social business network” as he terms it, is a valuable way to promote your secondhand business, this is a terrific lesson plan for teaching yourself! (Beware, you can eat up a LOT of days with this: it’s fascinating stuff, and only by exploring can you determine if it’s a time-effective way to expand your specific retail business.)
I highly recommend social networking. I pick up new customers all the time who say they saw my MySpace page and I invite new friends on MySpace as a way of getting the word out and utilizing this wonderful free advertising tool! I’ve also got some photos posted on Flickr and have received comments from folks who have seen them. Now if I could only find the time to do even more….
