Take the shirt off your back and put on the one in your back room

May 6, 2009 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

branded-landsendGot a shirt in your back room? Nice, clean, pressed, flattering shirt ready to be slipped on when the news crew arrives? You know, the one with your shop NAME on it?

This thought occurred to me as I was watching yet another News Crew at Five type of video clip about consignment, resale, and video. ( I watch a lot of these. In fact, I might watch every one there is.) Straining to make out the shop’s name, or blinking when the TV station superimposed it for 5 seconds….I was left wondering how this could be remedied.Ā  How many of that shop’sĀ  potential customers missed the name and so their impulse to visit died on the vine. (Or worse, they stopped at your competition and were turned off by the musty musty version of a store she runs.)

My first impulse was Let’s situate the reporter and camera man in front of our signage. But you know those reporters, always doing their own thing. So emblazoning your business name across your left chest is the next best thing.

Besides, that way, everyone in town watching News Crew at Five this evening won’t see you in that unflattering vertical stripe T you threw on this morning ’cause you were late getting out of the house. And you always look good in blue šŸ˜‰

The photo’s of a Lands’ End example in their Business Outfitters section. LLBean sells emblazoned apparel as well, and you can always create your own one-off shop tee.
