How about having (especially this Labor Day weekend, or plan ahead for Columbus Day, both times when “real” retail stores angle for customers to come shopping) a
SITEWALK Sale!
(And forget the “reduced price” definition of “sale”…concentrate instead on SELLING your already-great prices!)
Simply get some photos together of great, spectacular outfits in your shop (furniture shops: read “decor collections”),
add a “price list” showing that your featured selection adds up to some awe-inspiring total,
use some appetizing adjectives in your description, and Wow! We ought to get down there, look at the terrific stuff we can have and so affordable too!
Great opportunity to show your clientele, and potential clientele, examples of what there is for them IN-STORE.
Here’s what I’d write about the outfit to the left: Harvest colors, heat-wave pizzazz: What to wear when your heart says Fall but the thermometer says Momma Mia? This ethnic look from MyShop: Golden sunshine silk top, $9 over a tribal-print swirly skirt, $10, coupled with metallic espadrilles, $8 and the most spectacular brass-and-amber necklace we’ve seen in years, $17. You’ll look completely appetizing on your next picnic at LocalScenicPark and completely cool during TownArtFestival. And all for only $44 (and imagine that incredible necklace over next month’s cashmere turtleneck, too!)
Go ahead, try your hand: what would YOU write about the next 2 photos?

PS I think SITEWALK Sale qualifies as a good email subject line too, doesn’t it? Directing the readers of your email to your blog, and that specific post?

Thanks for using my picture, Kate. Of course, I got the idea for “layering” from you! All that stuff looked pretty dull and boring before we put the chair and table on top of the table.
