I loved this post. My mom, MSRIP, used to tell me about pin money when I was a girl. She also told me that I should save so that I would never have to be reliant on anyone. In the 60’s we went to local thrift stores and “Willie Goods” as well as the “As Is Yard”. Mom turned trash into treasures with her “pin money”, though it wasn’t given to her by my dad per se, she simply skimmed a little off the weekly budget and boy did we have fun!
