No, you’re not crazy.
I’m forgetful.
It was late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning when I realized that Deja Vuesday had been neglected in favorite of yesterday’s post. So here’s a Deja Vuesday I cooked you up, a day late…hope you’ll flip over it.
Recipes. One of the best parts of friendship. This past blog post includes links to Green Bally Things and Roast Beast Rollups from Wendy Sam, the intrepid consignment shop owner ofย The Picker Who Perished, a Too Good to be Threw Consignment Shop Mystery.
and another: Chicken in Pants, which made One More Time famous in the Tri-Village area.
And here’s my personal go-to recipe that I can always depend on:
Cuban Chicken
Buncha Chicken Parts (bone or boneless, best though with skin ON): I use about 10 thighs
2 T veg oil
1 T EACH:ย Chili powder, cumin, oregano
1 t pepper and 1-1/2 T salt
1 T chopped garlic (which you can leave out but makes it much more authentic-tasting)
How-to:
Heat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix all spices into the veg oil.
Slather said spread all over the chicken.
Bake in a shallow pan, uncovered, 45 min to an hour.
Great with rice or rice-and-beans, avocado-and-tomato salad, and beverage of choice.
Enjoy! Leftovers make a great chicken salad with attitude… serve with mango, papaya, citrus salad.

This sounds GREAT! Chile powder, cumin and oregano are probably some of my most frequently spices.
Will be adding this to the menu next week. ๐ Thanks as always, Kate.

When Thre Picker Who Perished came out, I had my book club read. They each bought an autograghed copy. When we host book club we also feed the bookies. I used receipes from Wendy and her friends. Good eats!
