One of our newest Treasured Sponsors of HowToConsign.com, Sumthing Unique in Maui HI is letting me borrow this photo from her web site. Doncha LOVE it? The whole idea just INSPIRES me.
Letting the title of a book “speak” for your merchandise.
Can’t you just see some Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum mystery novels setting the mood for some NJ-mall-girl shoes? A pile of leather-bound classics making a pedestal for a necklace display piece dripping in great pearls?
Nor need this idea be limited to shoes. How’s about a piece of newborn gear with What to Expect When You’re Expecting? A casserole balanced on a pile of “meal in a dish” type cookbooks?
Putting words, in a witty way, into your merchandise photos is a great addition to those captions you’re now using.
If your shop doesn’t sell books, or if your home library doesn’t have the volumes you need…ask your friends and customers to bring in some for a photo shoot. You’ll get what you need, and give your supporters a way to participate in the excitement of your shop. Great way to get them involved!
Many thanks to Sunmthing Unique owner Sui Lan Lei Lee for allowing me to share this great idea!
