How many tweets do your followers follow?

October 2, 2010 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Kinda like how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood, isn’t it.

And I’m not even totally certain what a woodchuck is* and whether I’ve ever actually SEEN one.

Point is, do your tweets to your followers get seen

…and if so, for how long? It all depends on how many people your followers follow…how many messages show up on their screens. If they follow hundreds or thousands, believe me, the chances of your message being simply seen, yet alone making a good impression, are slim.

Ditto, natch, for “fans” or “friends” or “likes” on Facebook. Do your cunningly crafted messages get read, and how long before

they fall off the bottom of the screen?

Might it be advantageous to reissue your message the same day, or even the next…perhaps at a different time of day?

I’ve tried doing that once in a while. Some folks watch their tweets all day long, some check over morning coffee or during the evening. To get full value out of your little pearls of wisdom, maybe you need to repost. What do you think? Do you notice reposts from those you follow, and is it helpful or as annoying as those infinitely repeated  &$%^ gecko commercials? (Speaking of wildlife.)

* Well, who wooda (chuckle chuckle) guessed? A woodchuck is simply a groundhog. Thank you, Ms. Google (you did know Google was a woman, didn’t you? Who else would know so much and be delighted to tell you so, day or night?)

So, do you repost your messages? Does it annoy you when others do? How much is too much or not enough?

Tweets are not my favorite. They are a necessary evil. However, I can “Ping.fm” and just repeat the message. That is a great idea and a 2 second fix. Love the quick and easy. Never reinvent the wheel. Thanks Kate.
