A TGtbT Teeny Tip for Consignment, Resale, and Thrift Shops

November 5, 2010 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

A Too Good to be Threw Teeny Tip fior Consignment, Thrift & Resale StoresA TGtbT Teeny Tip from Resale’s Cheapest Tricks & Best Buys:

Wrapping paper isn’t just for gifts!

Never pass up a sale of wrapping paper without a good look.

  • Wrapping paper can cover boxes for risers in a display or a showcase,
  • be used as “seamless” paper to be scrolled as a backdrop on a display,
  • even folded into fans for accents in a display.

Another idea: if you use a large foyer sign holder, cover poster board or foamcore with the paper (spray adhesive is perfect for this job), and center your 8½” x 11″ announcement within using removable glue dots. The wrapping paper makes a nice mat for your message. Look for small patterned paper that blends with your decor, shiny metallic paper to catch the eye, or even marbleized paper for depth and interest.

(Bonus Tip: Ask your clients if they have wrapping paper they’d like to recycle…that is, bring in to you so you can put it to good use as above! Any inappropriate designs or colors could be donated to a kids’ program for arts and crafts use. Remember the reasons I gave to  BRAG about this shop-supported charitable donation!)

This Teeny Tip is from Resale’s Cheapest Tricks & Best Buys which is one of TGtbT.com’s Lunch with Kate mini-Products for the Professional Resaler. You can get all the rest, PDQ, to keep in your Business Success computer file, or to print out and put in your shop file folder.
