Great little blog entry from a consignor’s point of view. <Click to see what she has to say. I love “eavesdropping” on our audience like this, don’t you?
And she mentions something that really got me thinking.
This consignor “books ahead” her consignment appointments every 6 weeks at the several shops she uses. She does this to keep herself on the de-cluttering track, but what an idea. Got me thinking. Why don’t WE, as shopkeepers, book the next appointment for our consignors when they are in? Hey, my dentist and the mammogram center and my hair dresser all do this…
why didn’t WE ever think about it?
Could be a wonderful way to keep consignors involved and loyal…AND to get those new-season items in at the beginning of the season when you really need them for the seasonal switch-over. Even if we don’t really require appointments, “setting aside this special time for you” is so gracious and would be an incredible WOM-worthy service!
