Well, it’s been quite a year for consignment, resale, and thrift shops. Look at all that’s happened:
An average of 1500 people popped into TGtbT.com every day during 2010. The busiest time of day? 9am, indicating that many shopkeepers start their day with Sharing!
Sharers rallied to each other’s defense when one was slammed on Facebook.
Around 450 resalers read our free PDF How NFPs Can Profit by Reaching out to Resale Peers, and I’m hoping that at least half of them sent the link to their favorite NFP neighbors, to help THEM thrive!
Almost 500 shops took advantage of TGtbT.com’s free downloads such as The Slow Month Calendar and “Can you believe she SAID that?”, and thousands more added our mini-Products from the “Lunch with Kate” shop to their business reference materials.
Over 10,000 people read the series 4 Days to Resale Success. In contrast, less than a thousand read the cautionary tale, The 10 Best Ways to Ruin a Resale Business.
The first NARTS Conference on the ocean took place in Palm Beach Florida. A record number of attendees luxuriated in the Ritz-Carleton, and over 250 attended my two workshops.
Every month thousands learned how to “turn your cluttered closets into CASH” at HowToConsign.com. In 2010 over 150 shops joined their peers as Sponsors of HowToConsign.com
Readership of this blog grew by over 20% in 2010. We gave away over 20 prizes including business books and gift certificates to the Products for the Professional Resaler Shop. Most popular audience-participation topics: The Best Piece of Advice You Ever Got and What Do You Love about Being a Resale Shopkeeper?
Over 1000 potential shopkeepers contacted Too Good to be Threw for professional advice, and hundreds opened shop for the first time in 2010.
We added new Products for the Professional Resaler to our Shop:
* The BIG Book of BUYING OUTRIGHT
* Pakaways: More Freedom, More Profit
* KidBiz: It’s NOT Child’s Play
* The Resaler’s Guide to Furniture & Home Goods
* Resalers’ Resource List: Your Employee Handbook and Team Work: Staffing your Store
Dozens of Treasured Sponsors of HowToConsign.com took advantage of their free copy of The Resalers’ Resource List: Your Employee Handbook
That’s a lot for one year, don’t you think? I believe I’ll go lie down now with a wet cloth over my eyes. Happy New Year to you all!
Another year…another chance to improve and grow and all with your help! We’re so lucky!
