« Slow in your #consignment, resale, thrift shop?
What I didn’t get to say in “The Price is Right… or is it?” »

So simple. So effective. So perfect for your consignment or resale shop.

July 1, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

I love, love, love this photo. (Alas, I didn’t record whose it was. If it’s yours, let us know the name of the Genius so we can thank her/him!)

Great shot of a total outfit! Why do I love this photo? Because:

* It’s simple, so simple, to do. Here, they’ve used white photo backdrop paper. You could do that, or you could use a spotless part of an attractive floor. Just lay the goods down, pinch a bit of a waist in, arrange a few folds as needed and shoot completely parallel to the floor.

*  It shows humor, both in the coordination of the pieces and the active “pose.”

* What could be more “back-to-school”?

Hints:

  • Use the “color saturation” tool in your photo-editing software (or in picnik.com, my fave) to get the brilliance shown here.
  • Notice: No price tags. Take ’em off and put them back on. Really, it is worth the 21 extra seconds.
  • Do a bunch of outfits at a time to maximize the use of your set-up time.
  • Add text to your photo, if you like. Definitely use your shop logo!

Reminder: Want to “chat” or Share with other resalers? Go to the entry  OPEN HOUSE to keep in touch with each other.

A light tent can get a better look. Lighting can be controlled and evened out than using a white background alone. You can purchase one or make your own.
