Tired of being a Mystery Man? Or a Man at all?

September 28, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Get out of the grey with your own GravatarTake a look at the right column here. See the “Readers Comment” section? A lot of consignment, resale and thrift shopkeeper viewers appear to be, well, rather grey, to go by the image next to their comment. The Mystery Man is the default gravatar, what you see on my blog if the person participating in our lively discussions has not availed herself/himself of another wonderful and free way to get her/his business noticed on the Internet.

Click through to where I suggested that

it’s worth your 5 minutes’ investment.

Truth is, y’all look like a bunch of mugs, as in mug shots, when I know you are all vibrant, multi-leveled Professional Resalers.

So show your colors!

P.S. If you sometimes participate as just-plain-you (like adding a comment to a hobby blog) and if you also need a “business suit” gravatar, when you comment as shopkeeper, you can easily have several gravatars. Just use alternative email addresses to create several.

Kate Holmes, HowToConsign.com and Auntie Kate. I'm all three! P.P.S. Most WordPress blogs, such as this one, allow you to actually choose which avatar you want to show with a given comment. Gravatar is the one used by WordPress (and some other) blogs, but you can choose to sign your comment with your Facebook picture or your Twitter image. Here’s what my various personalities look like, which I did by choosing my WordPress Gravatar, or FB or Twitter, when I made remarks on another blog.
