Emergency costume: Thrift stores, right up your alley! »

Did you forget your costume this morning? Shame on you!

October 31, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Luckily, forgetting your Halloween costume when you’re a consignment, resale, or thrift shop owner/manager is not a major deal.

.

Perfect resale Halloween costume!Assuming you wear your wares. Or at least shop other resale shops, if you sell used furniture or home decor or baby clothes…

All you have to do is make a sun headband. Or tuck a sunflower behind your ear.

Get it? You’ve dressed up as

Nothing New Under the Sun.

(Didn’t forget your costume? Tell us what you are today!)

(What I was, one year.)

Dwight and I are both dressed as pirates. He’s got the whole Captain Jack Sparrow thing going with the black long hair and heavy eyeliner and beads. I made a three corner hat out of a sun hat I had, vest, blouse, pants black boots and voila. We kept asking the customers if they had brought any rum. That got lots of laughs. We had a lot of fun. I highly recommend dressing up.

Pix, pix! Email them to me and I’ll share… and that goes not only for Julie and Tara, but ALL you imaginative shopkeepers out there.
After all, if I can be a Chocolate Moose in antlers and bedroom slippers for all to see, how embarrassed could YOU be?

I’m dressed as a gypsy today. My employees are a black cat, a cougar, and Cleopatra. We always have fun on Halloween!
