All my shop wants for Christmas… »

No ID, no idea

November 9, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Here’s the complete text of an email I received recently:

Who sent me this? No idea.

Who is this email from? What does this merchant sell?

You wouldn’t do this, would you?

Without a shop name (better, their logo) (better, their logo and tag line and address) (or best of all, logo and tag line and address AND a photo of their store front to “fix” the message in my mind) this email was a waste of everyone’s time. An annoyance. And likely to be marked spam as well.

Just think how wonderful, and effective, this positive message would have been in a broadcast email client, like Constant Contact (the one I use) or any other. Get a free trial and a $30 credit by going to explore Constant Contact through this link.

I love Constant Contact. They make it so easy to put out messages to customers and consigners, their templates and tips keep me on topic, and they make sure my brand and shop information is front and center. Your tip to use them was one of the best ones I ever listened to, Kate.
