It’s a landslide! Professional Resalers win, every one of them!

June 12, 2012 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

UPDATE 2018: Both the HowToConsign.com website and the related blog, HowToConsign.org, have been mothballed. Feel free to link to the many articles at both sites, but Directory listings are no longer available.

Wow, an avalanche of winning consignment, resale, and thrift stores becoming Sponsors at HowToConsign.com!

Full of industry info, if you aren't on HTC... why not?

10 Best Things to Buy Secondhand

As you know, HowToConsign is the consumer arm of TGtbT.com. It’s a site designed to excite the public about all aspects of resale, from consigning to selling to donating to nonprofit thrifts. It teaches them the difference between the various types of resalers, shows them how to shop, how to clean out their closets and cupboards, even how to prepare their items. It’s a great boon to shopkeepers, too, because they can always shift the blame for being picky by saying

“See http://howtoconsign.com/spiffy.htm for the industry standards on preparing your items to bring in.”

Free of all advertising, it pre-educates your future clientele and motivates them to discover your shop, as listed on our Clickable Directory. It even directs people right to your door with the Zoomable Map.

How To Consign is the place where TGtbT PRE-educates your potential customers for you! Here’s the shops I’ve just added to HowToConsign.com. Be sure to visit them all… and note that some even have their Facebook links on the Directory, and some have their blogs listed in the right column here on AuntieKate.wordpress.com for your enjoyment!

  • Twice as Nice, SC
  • Dori’s Closet, MD
  • Christine’s Consignment, PA
  • Tuesday’s Child Shoppe, NJ
  • Pipsqueaks & Damsels, BC Canada*
  • Melbourne Beach Thrift, FL
  • Remarkable Resale, IL
  • This N That Thrift, CA
  • Childish Things, CO
  • and we’re awaiting link info from a shop in Nebraska and another in Montana!

YAY!

Our Sponsor Year runs July 1 – June 30, so if you’re a current Sponsor, it’s time to renew, and if you’ve never been a Sponsor before, you’ll get 24/7/365 ASAP for a coin or two a day when you click on over to our Sponsor Page. (NARTS Conference goers: please renew now… I won’t have Cashier Kenny to help at SourceMart, so it’s a lot better/faster/less stressful to join or renew now than wait in line then!)

* Note: Fern at Pipsqueaks & Damsels is a current consultee of TGtbT and we’re discussing changing her name to Damsels/and Pipsqueaks Too to reflect the trend in her business, so make a note, in case she changes it!
