If you want my opinion (and you do)…

August 12, 2012 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Do a customer survey to improve your consignment, resale or thrift shopLooking to find out what your customers… and perhaps even their friends… think about your shop, or would like to see you offer or change?

A properly-written, disseminated,  and interpreted online (and/or in-store!) survey can do that.

Here’s what Inc. Magazine says. And Dr. Mommy has some thoughts too.

More thoughts:

  • 6 Quick Tips to Improve Your Survey Response Rate
  • A fascinating process: Detractors vs Fans and how to figure (I’d never have guessed!)
  • Like GoogleDocs? Here’s how to make a survey with that.
  • If you use Constant Contact, check this out. I am sure other broadcast email companies have parallel offerings, so check yours.

Who to use to design your survey? SurveyMonkey is free if you are happy with 100 or less responses. They’re incorporated Zoomerang, in case you have used Zoomerang in the past. Another company, same limitations; and another, for 10 days, 50 or fewer responses free. I believe all of these companies will collect results beyond these limits, but you’ll have to pay for them. See which works best for you, and let us know your thoughts/experiences by commenting below.

Want to get your feet wet with surveys by trying one in-store first? TGtbT.com has a Customer Opinion Survey Kit, complete with the most useful questions and instructions, here.
