Wanted to share this quote with you:Blogging for Consignment, Resale, and Thrift Shops

[Using a blog] is one of the best ways to have an on-going flow of great content. In
fact, companies that blog have 55% more website visitors and 88% more
leads than those who do not.  –hubspot.com

Think you can’t blog? Hate to write? Have no time for it? Think Facebook does everything you THINK it does for your business?

A blog can be THE tool to connect your business to your customers. A blog… can be an active marketing tool.  A business blog is a major part of social media to extend your reach within your strategic Marketing plan. Rather than merely set up a picturesque website that you hope someone will find, you put out helpful information related to your products or services.  –successwithcrm.com

Get Blogging for Resale Shops, a 35-page PDQ (what’s a PDQ?) with solid, industry-specific information and over 70 helpful links, to get blogging tonight!

Or you can just sit around and gather 6% or less of your audience.

Here’s another article about Facebook. The 12 Most Common Facebook Questions, Answered It’s interesting, but the most interesting thing I got from it? You should “spend 4-10 hours a week” on your page…. and even FB itself says only “16%” (other sources say 6%) on tyour fans will see your posts. Doesn’t sound like the ideal use of your marketing time to me.
Someone asked me why I am down on FB… I’m not! Just that, FB is perfect for sending fans to your blog, where you have their attention and can really have the space and layout to present your business as one they adore, and visit, and shop at. If you’re going to be spending that amount of time on social media, create something that can be used, can be seen, can be referenced for days or weeks, rather than minutes as a FB entry is.
