Shopping resale online… infinite variations

December 14, 2012 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Consignment selling onlineA nice summary article from The New York Times about shopping consignment/ resale online.

How can you use these companies’ high-flying concepts

to improve the shopping and supplying aspects of your shop, or to make the online shopping you have on your web site more productive? After all, these folks have big money and marketing brains behind them, and we can do some electronic brain picking right from the comfort of our homes/ shops/ couches.

Take a look. Update: The NYT now limits access to their past articles unless you pay for (caution, pun approaching) … second-hand news. We’d love to hear what you take away from your study of these companies. Take a minute to share in the comments below!

And yet more! Online only clothing retailers see the advantages of in-person shopping, open some interesting takes on bricks-&-mortar! http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/19/business/shopping-sites-open-brick-and-mortar-stores.html?emc=tnt&tntemail1=y

More on this topic. Apparently, bricks-and-mortar stores feel that this area is not one of edification or education? http://thirdwavefashion.com/2012/12/the-rise-of-resale-9-marketplaces-you-should-know/
