A quotation made for resale shopkeepers.

April 24, 2013 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Are you ever tempted to roll your eyes at some resale, consignment, thrift suggestion from your Auntie Kate and say

“That takes way too much time to happen.”

What do you imagine will happen, if you decide to see what the future brings, while sitting on your hands?

The time will pass anyway.

I opened my store in November 2012. I read every article I could find from you….TGtbT and more. I just want to say that I’m successful, because I’ve followed your suggestions……..and they WORK. THANK YOU for sharing.

That’s right, you are! Your gravatar isn’t linked, so there was no way to tell! For more about gravatars, read this past post: https://auntiekate.wordpress.com/2011/09/28/tired-of-being-a-mystery-man-or-a-man-at-all/ and here https://auntiekate.wordpress.com/2010/03/08/flamingos-flying-to-virginia-and-avatars-coming-in-for-a-landing/ but that was a while back so maybe you missed it.
And pardon me for not making the connection!

Kate, I don’t own a consignment store (maybe SOMEDAY!), but I still follow your blog faithfully for the great business advice. I sell vintage and handmade items at an antique mall booth, as well as on Etsy and eBay. I’ve used so many of your ideas and suggestions in my booth AND online, and can see my business growing as a result.

Just wanted you to know that you have a grateful fan out here. Keep up the good work. We appreciate you taking the time!!!

    Desiree 🙂

Thanks SO much Desiree for your kind words. After a career in retail, it’s really hard for me to have “invisible customers”… I used to LOVE seeing and talking to my consignment customers, and knowing how they were going to use what they bought from me. The Internet can be very lonely that way, so it’s great to know that gee, there are real people out there and gee, I might even be helping them!
I see you have begun a blog… don’t miss our info on how to blog for resale businesses on my Too Good to be Threw website

Well… I’ve SIGNED UP for a blog. I’ve been so nervous about actually STARTING it! All the blogs I follow are so impressive. It can be a bit intimidating. I started my little Facebook page not long ago, and that has helped. I love sharing on it, so I’m starting to think I will be OK to blog. I printed your article on blogging awhile back, and have it handy for when I get going.

Thanks SO MUCH for your response and encouragement, and again for all your helpful advice. You are a gem!!!
