Okay, clear the decks for Thanksgiving!

November 1, 2013 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Halloween’s over, so it is time to work on Thanksgiving in your consignment, resale, or thrift shop. First, go buy that half-off candy corn to make these as your customer gift:

Turkey toes as a Thanksgiving treat in your consignment shop!

If you’re handier than necessary, or if you know someone who is, wouldn’t these be a great giveaway? (Click the photo for how-to’s…. hint, the turkey’s head is a Hershey’s Kiss!)

Okay, enough with the candy. Here’s some more ideas to ensure that Thanksgiving doesn’t get lost in Christmas.

  • Start a clothesline of thankful autumn leaves. Encourage customers to add their leaf. (Look around that Pinterest Board, Holidays 4 Consignment, Resale & Thrift Shopkeepers. While much of it is Christmas, there’s plenty of ideas for shops with all sorts of budgets and customers!)
  • This window display would be great, adapted for Thanksgiving, in your shop. After all, we all have a to-do list for the holiday!
  • Read about what other shops think about Black Friday and start letting your clientele know what’s up.
  • It’s time for the staff greeting card to be created.
  • (and don’t forget to stock up on costumes for next year’s Halloween with this great idea.)

The turkey toes photo is from Pinterest, but the original web site it was on is apparently gone.
