Rainy Day People….

June 3, 2014 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Rainy day lovers don’t hide love inside they just pass it on*

If it’s a rainy, slow day at your shop and you’re feelin’ blue, here’s some projects that will have your consignment, thrift or resale shop passin’ the love on!

A generic, ready-to-go shop photo example found by TGtbT.com, of Again in Idaho

Great example of a shop’s “generic photo”… shows what you sell, and even the shop name! Thanks, Again and Again2 in Idaho

* Take some generic photos of your shop for future use. Find some examples you like on the web, then use them as a template for photos pertaining to your shop. Use them for web site illustrations (can we please please get rid of the commercial photos of happy shoppers and use some of the shop we’re talking about?), for your blog, on profiles and social media and maybe, even, on your business cards, brochures, how-to pamphlets and media advertising.

* How about planning and setting up an expandable, contractible display, coolly elegant merchandising spot. Not half bad for a window display, either.

* Spread the love far and wide. Here’s an exhaustive list (and I mean that quite literally!) of all the places you’ll want to add your business listing. Note, too, that even if you are on these sites already, you might want to devote time to “claiming” and/or enhancing the info about your business at each one.

* Before it drives you crazy, it’s a song by Gordon Lightfoot.
