A thrift and resale alliance has some good ideas for youOne woman has started a “thrift store alliance”… which looks like it could be attracting consignment and resale shops as well… in a Florida county.

I started one here in Syracuse NY- my name is Kelly and I own Wear it Again Kids & Family too! Consignment/Resale. I created Syracuse Area Consignment Connection- we have brochures with all the consignment stores in the area in it and we all have some that we hand out in our stores. It is something that I think benefits all of us. I have had people ask me why I would want to advertise another shop. And my answer is why not? We all sell different things, we all want to succeed, why not help each other out? It comes from the movie Miracle on 34th street, when Santa sent one of Macy’s customers to Gimbles because Macy’s didn’t have what they were looking for. I truly believe we should all work together for the greater good.

What a fantastic idea! And Curb Alert is a great way to keep things out of landfills. This is the first time I’ve ever heard about August 17th being National Thrift Shopping Day. Three great new ideas in one of Kate’s posts!
