Superbowl Sunday: Easiest Consignment Shop Promo Ever!

December 27, 2014 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Superbowl Sunday is coming up… so it’s a good time, right now, to get your ducks (your pigskins?) in a row.

Your clientele either LOVES Superbowl… or hates it and would

LOVE to get out of the house and enjoy a sports-free Sunday afternoon at your shop.

And the seasonal timing is just right for your end-of-winter clearance, your resortwear preview presentation, or your let’s-think-spring special accepting event. No price-cutting is even required… although a few refreshments and hourly door prizes could be a draw!

For fun, I highly recommend the idea in this Pin:

I always forget about SuperBowl. Glad you reminded me that it is worth being open. Our draw (every month for 2 years now) is to do Free Sunday. Open 1 to 4 inside. Outside tables are set up with FREE stuff. It is absolutely anything that we wouldn’t/couldn’t sell. Other places might throw it away. But someone wants to glue the head back on the ceramic angel or snowman. They will wear a set of pjs with a bleach stain, even though you can’t sell it.
Every month we fill 6-8 tables and 3/4 of it will leave. All remaining clothes are donated to a local homeless church organization.
We have more new customers in 3 hours than I get all week/month long! Lots of shoppers on Sundays that can’t come by during the week. And because I only do it one Sunday a month, i keep demand high. And still have 3-4 Sundays off each month.
