Don’t blow your budget: Free social media pictures

March 24, 2015 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

If you want to use graphics, pictures, clip art in your consignment or resale social media posts, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Here’s several lists of free sources for you to explore:

Spotlight on Images

Lifehack’s List

Searchable Image Sites

Tip #1 from Auntie Kate: If a source doesn’t have a search capability, skip it… unless you have more time than Methuselah. On the other hand, be open to exploring these sources… a beautiful photo of a mountain path could inspire you to post about “the path less taken: shopping resale to create your unique look”

Tip #2 from Auntie Kate: Set some time aside for going through these sources…. some will appeal to your business image more than others… and save, as you go, the images that look good for your shop. How I do this? I create a folder for each source, then within that folder I name the image by as many keywords as I can come up with, so when I need them later, I can find them with a simple search. For example, this image I’d save as “prom teen black satin gown sit ” so I’d be able to find it whether I’m posting about prom, sitting pretty, special occasion gowns or teen shoppers.

A list of lists of free image sources for your consignment or resale shop in the Too Good to be Threw blog will have your shop sitting pretty!

Don’t neglect finding out about copyright and public domain. And pay attention: some of these sites finance themselves by making paid images the ones you first see, so don’t use an image which isn’t free by mistake.
